What are VAE and IDPE?

Validation of Acquired Experience (VAE)

VAE is a legal system that allows anyone, regardless of their age, initial level of education, or status, to have their professional skills acquired through experience officially recognized. This approach constitutes a third route to certification, equivalent to initial or continuing training.

Since its creation in 2002, VAE has enabled thousands of professionals to have their expertise recognized and obtain diplomas corresponding to their actual level of skills. This innovative approach values experiential learning and recognizes that skills can be acquired outside of the traditional academic framework.

State-certified engineer (IDPE)

The IDPE is a state diploma specifically designed for professionals who already work as engineers. Recognized by the Commission des Titres d'Ingénieur (CTI), this diploma confers a Master's degree and benefits from the same recognition as engineering diplomas obtained through traditional methods.

This qualification allows non-qualified engineers in practice to obtain official recognition of their skills through the full validation of their professional experience. The IDPE is based exclusively on the professional experience acquired and the projects carried out during the candidate's career.
