France 2030 is an investment program in research and innovation in industry, committing 54 billion euros from 2021 to 2026.
Its objective is to promote the development of new solutions in various fields (from food to space, from nuclear energy to decarbonization, including health, culture, etc.) by using different levers such as digital technology, research, and training, but especially for ENSEA: electronics, robotics, and materials science.
Selected among the 2024 winners of the call for projects "Producing low-carbon aircraft in France", CHAMELEON 2 stands out for its innovative approach.
The aircraft will be a hybrid propulsion drone, designed to replace helicopters and long road journeys on certain difficult logistics lines identified as critical. Its dual engine will reduce CO2 emissions as well as noise pollution when passing close to inhabited areas.
Led at ENSEA by the research team EdS (Systems Electronics) of the Quartz laboratory (Abed-Elak Kasbari and Achour Ouslimani), This project will benefit from human reinforcements with the hiring of several full-time engineers and interns. It also mobilizes significant material investments and resources dedicated to certification and industrial subcontracting.
In partnership with Atechsys, a subsidiary of DCI Group, and theONERA, ENSEA has four years to make this progress towards more sustainable aviation a reality.
On course for 2029!
