Our Diversity Mission

Diversity is part of ENSEA's DNA, from the recruitment of our students from all social and economic backgrounds to a campus life instilled with values of openness, respect and kindness.
ENSEA pursues this mission through a policy promoting diversity and living together.

An engineering school committed to diversity

ENSEA's aim is to be a Grande École open to all audiences, while respecting diversity.

The school and its community are committed to combating all forms of discrimination, even implicit, and are committed to a comprehensive approach to welcoming diversity among its students and staff.

The Diversity mission is part of the school strategy and is structured around 5 themes:

  • Equal Opportunities
  • Gender Equality and LGBT+
  • Handicap
  • Racism and Anti-Semitism
  • Sexist and Sexual Harassment and Violence (SSHV)

This program is led by a Diversity officer assisted by six ENSEA representatives and three student correspondents.

All year round, awareness-raising actions and events are carried out on campus to give substance to our commitments and include the university community in our approach.

Gender Equality and LGBT+

For several years, ENSEA has been committed to gender equality, through:

  • Awareness and training of students through the Companieros organization, all coordinated by the associative center ENSEActiv.
  • Awareness-raising workshops on the fight against homophobia with SOS Homophobia, The Other Circle and internal communication campaigns…
  • The organization of conferences with the association They move
  • Programming competitions and events for thematic days such as International Women's Day.

Our research laboratories have also worked on gender equality. The ETIS laboratory provides access to the results of the Equality and Parity initiative, as well as its statistical data on gender parity.

Equal opportunities

ENSEA relies on three study advisors, teachers, responsible for guiding students based on the academic or non-academic issues encountered.

The school disseminates information to its students through its various communication media (intranet, newsletters, digital display campaigns, information meetings, etc.).

Support for the disabled

ENSEA supports its engineering students and staff members with disabilities by relying on two Disability Advisors, one for students and one for staff members.

  • Improving campus accessibility through the adaptation and development of premises.
  • Securing access for the visually impaired
  • The provision of wheelchairs
  • Awareness raising and training of staff and students (the “Handimanager” program of the Companieros organization)
  • The partnership with the @TalentEgal association to support students with disabilities in obtaining a higher education diploma until the validation of the trial period of their first job
  • The establishment of study contracts for the adaptation of the curriculum of the first 2 years over 3 years
  • Adapting the TOEIC according to disability

Fight against racism and anti-Semitism

ENSEA relies on a referent for:

  • Raising awareness in the university community through poster campaigns
  • Organize actions and events throughout the year

Fight against Harassment and Sexist and Sexual Violence (HVSS)

Staff members and students carry out awareness-raising and mobilization actions throughout the year in order to preserve the school as a safe place (of study and work):

  • The dissemination of digital prevention campaigns and surveys from Handsaway and the Observatory of Sexual and Sexist Violence.
  • The organization of conferences and awareness workshops : associations and theater companies intervene in our premises to understand, identify and react in cases of HVSS.
  • The establishment of mandatory training to participate in and organize certain student events.
  • Annual participation in the congress organized by the BNEI - National Bureau of Engineering Students, the Conference of Grandes Écoles (CGE) and the CDEFI - Conference of Directors of French Engineering Schools for a training day and the signing of the Cpas1Option Charter.
  • The establishment of a HVSS alert and reporting system accessible online from the school's website and intranet, for victims or witnesses of violence, including HVSS.
  • The construction of a network of qualified partners and privileged contacts, as well as all our internal contacts.
  • The adoption of an external listening and support unit for the Institute Women Safe & Children.
  • Psychological support from one of our partner associations, Passage, and the University Health Service.
